Anna contacted me last January. She said she was interested in running the Disneyland Half Marathon, September 2, 2012 to support Inheritance of Hope. Team IOH does not participate as a team in the Disneyland Half but Anna still wanted to raise funds and run the race for IOH families! Throughout the year, many runners do the same. They run halfs, marathons, mud runs, tris, and 5ks as individual runners. It's their way of running beside and supporting the families that Inheritance of Hope serves. Thank you, Anna, for sharing this wonderful story ... and thank you for raising over $1500! ~Lisa

As a member of a family living with cancer, I know how easy it can be to get overwhelmed. That was why I chose to run for Inheritance of Hope; because I’ve been there, and because I felt that a cause that could make the process easier for someone else was absolutely worth working for.
Fundraising can be scary ... and can be overwhelming for some of us. And these feelings can lead to putting off getting started. I know, because I've been there. But, I've learned that fundraising isn't so hard or scary, and can even be invigorating.

So, how do I get started fundraising??
How many times have we gotten to a point in life where we feel we can't go any further? Often, the way we make it through those times is through the help and encouragement of a friend. In this blog, Lara Miller shares her experience about joining Team IOH for the Disney Marathon on January 8, 2012 - and the blessing of becoming friends and running with Nicole.
Team IOH participated in the Disney Marathon Weekend last weekend in Orlando, FL. Runners participated in the marathon, half-marathon, Goofy's challenge and the 5K. Today, Kasandra Spears will tell us of her family's experience in participating in the Family Fiesta 5K - which took place Friday morning. The Spears' participated in the 2010 NYC Legacy Retreat, and as you will read, wanted the opportunity to 'give back' to IOH.
Team IOH will be represented in four of the five 2012 Disney Marathon weekend events coming up this weekend! We are excited that an IOH family that attended the November 2010 NYC Legacy Retreat will be participating in the 5K!
The 2011 Marine Corps Marathon will be run on October 30th, 18 days from today. Team Inheritance of Hope is proud to be a 3rd Tier Charity Partner with the MCM (4th Tier being the highest partnership level possible.) Inheritance of Hope will be represented by runners from across the U.S. The excitement is building for this year's race...there's a lot of chatter happening...even President Barack Obama has something to say...
Tammy Johnston is a member of the Team Inheritance of Hope 2011 Marine Corps Marathon team. Tammy has run the Los Angeles marathon and will share about her marathon experience. Thank you Tammy!
Team Inheritance of Hope has many planned endurance events throughout the year. You may be asking how you can get involved. We are always looking for athletes to join our team!
